Message Search and Redirection in React Native UIKit

Currently, the React Native UIKit does not provide an option to search within chat messages. This makes it difficult for users to quickly locate past conversations or specific messages. We request the addition of a message search feature that allows users to:

  1. Search for keywords or phrases within the chat history.

  2. Directly redirect/jump to the specific message in the conversation where the keyword was found.

This feature will greatly enhance usability, improve conversation navigation, and provide a seamless chat experience similar to popular messaging apps.

    Hi! Both of these capabilities are now available in the React Native UI Kit!

    Search: Users can now search for keywords and phrases within chat history. Check out the documentation here: Conversation and Advanced Search

    Jump to Message: To redirect users to a specific message in the conversation, you can use the goToMessageId prop — just pass the ID of the message you want to scroll to when the message list loads.

    Together, these give you the full search-and-navigate experience similar to popular messaging apps. Let us know if you have any questions!
